The event takes up 22 – 26 December 2020.
This year’s conference covers such topics as continuity of Islamic tradition, ethnic aspects of a multicultural world, Islamic media, preservation of language and culture in multilingual environments, Islamic economics, regional development, Russia and the Islamic community, and others.
Among the special invited guests are former Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova, Professor of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law (Chongqing, China) Ejaz Akram, and Russian Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ramazan Abdulatipov.
Sub-events include International Conference ‘Problems of Turkology: Russia and the Turkic-Muslim World’ and 4th Russian Olympiad in Turkish language.
The key speakers are First Deputy of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Russia Damir Mukhetdinov, Research Consultant of the Institute of Oriental Studies (Russian Academy of Sciences) Vitaly Naumkin, Head of the Center for Arabic and Islamic Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies Vasily Kuznetsov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Tatarstan Shamil Ageev, and Research Consultant of the Department of Economic Theory (Financial University of Russia) Rustem Nureev.
Diplomats are also among the contributors – Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan Alibeman Eghbali Zarch, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Ismet Erikan, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kazan Zhanbolat Murzalin, and Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kazan Fariddin Nasriev.
