Industrial excursion of students to Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant

On January 31, the Department of Production Economics conducted an industrial excursion to one of the leading enterprises of optical instrumentation in Russia - Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant (KOMZ). Students of the 3rd year of the profile “Economics of enterprises and organizations” got acquainted with the production and technological base of the enterprise, specializing in the development and production of optical devices, as well as inspected the shops and areas where products for military, civil and special purposes are manufactured from high quality raw materials on modern equipment with the use of innovative technologies.

Within the framework of the federal project “Labor Productivity” the enterprise actively implements lean production methods and tools, and efficient work at all stages of production is ensured by modern quality control systems and highly qualified employees. The industrial excursion contributed to the consolidation of theoretical knowledge and the formation of a practical base for future professional activity.
