More than 100 experts on public administration from Tatarstan, Russia and Europe gathered together at the 1st International Scientific-practical Conference “Quality Management and Performance Evaluation in Public Administration” held at the School of Public Administration on December 17-18, 2013. The conference was organized in collaboration with the CAF Resource Centre of the European Institute of Public Administration and with the support of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Agency of strategic initiatives for the promotion of new projects, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Federal Antimonopoly Service Office in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Human Resources Development Committee of the Federal Agency for State Property Management Expert Advisory Board.
During the plenary session, the experts gave their presentations on performance and quality management in Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan. Also, the experts shared best European practices in the improvement of public sector performance based on the Common Assessment Framework (CAF). After the plenary session, the conference continued divided into three sections: “Quality management systems in government”, “Quality management in municipalities” and “Effective Human Resource Management as a key quality management instrument for the public sector”. On the second day of the conference, the expert group met with students of the Minor Academy of Public Administration (SAPA) in the Republic of Tatarstan.
