On the 15 March the department of educational technologies and information systems in philology organized a round table discussion between the Master’s students and Trevor Richardson, the representative from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (USA).
Students of the Master’s program “Teaching English in secondary and higher educational institutions” met a guest from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the department of languages, literature and culture, an exchange student, who is specializing in International Global studies: Russian Studies Concentration.
Within the framework of his visit, Trevor Richardson shared knowledge about the system of education in the United States of America, particularly in his state, told about the advancements in education and methods of teaching. Students could ask various questions ranging from English language learning to lifestyles and shared their views on those issues. Moreover, students prepared a quest of current stereotypes in Russia that aroused guest’s special interest.
In the interview about his impressions of Kazan Federal University and the capital city itself, our American guest replied that it was his first visit to Kazan and that he was fascinated by culture, history and traditions of peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan. Trevor Richardson said that Kazan Federal University amazed him by its worldwide status, history, highly qualified staff and intelligent students.
