The formation of a multicultural personality implies, in particular, the acquisition of background knowledge that underlies the mentality of each ethnic community. The lecture materials allowed the audience to trace how historical events, represented in the language and culture of the people, left their mark on the public consciousness. The lecture aroused great interest, the audience was especially intrigued by the connection between the events of the distant past and modernity, the way the echoes of old events are heard in the concerns voiced today.
