Abstract
Fidai Nurgaleevich Fatkullin’s role in the Kazan school of criminal procedure was analyzed. We discussed his valuable contribution to development of the theory of state and law, as well as to the educational process (he was a research advisor for 24 candidate and 4 doctoral degree applicants, respectively). F.N. Fatkullin published more than 155 works (including 16 monographs), all on the topical issues of law theory and practice. His monograph “Prosecution and Judicial Verdict” was given the first prize of Kazan University in 1966. The textbook “History of National Statehood in Tartaria” was awarded the bronze medal of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy of the USSR. The textbook “Theory of State and Law” was stamped by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in 2001. His research and pedagogical activities were mostly connected with Kazan, his home city, and the Republic of Tatarstan. Here, he cooperated with practitioners of the court, judges, prosecution office, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. However, his works were published not only in Kazan, but also in Moscow, Leningrad, Kharkiv, Kishinev, and other cities of the USSR.
