N.N.Parfentyev, A.V.Vasilyev's disciple, played an important role in the development of Mathematics and Mechanics in the XX century. The range of his scientific interests, great erudition and intelligence helped to attract talented people of young generation to research work.
There are personal belongings next to the works and photographs of the professor and his followers: a bag, an ink-pot, case of drawing instruments and zither. The scientist played the zither and other musical instruments quite well.
The progress of non-Euclidean geometry is connected with the name of Parfentyev's disciple P.A.Shirokov. The founder of Kazan School of Geometry he was one of the first geometricians of the country who studied methods of tensor calculus, described in his monograph, which was based on his lecture courses and published in 1934.
The scientist's archive given to the museum by his son A.P.Shirokov has a report of organizing Lobachevsky's museum in Kazan.
Special attention is paid to P.A.Shirokov's follower A.Z.Petrov, one of the brightest representatives of Geometry School. Studying Einstein's spaces he proved a theorem, which sets the existence of three types of spaces and brought world fame to the scientist. Later on A.Z.Petrov was given Lenin prize for the series of works titled "Invariant Group Methods of Investigation in the Gravitation Theory". .
In the end of 1978 when museum organizing was in full swing the Petrov's widow brought his archive from Kiev. It contains documents and photographs of different years, abstracts of student's lectures and chess, manuscripts and published works, the Lenin Prizewinner Diploma and tyubeteika presented to him by the staff of the Department of Relativity Theory and Gravitation. He took the photo in the tyubeteika, while bidding farewell to the Department before his leaving for Kiev.
Indelible trace in the history of Kazan University was left by B.L.Laptev, another P.A.Shirokov's follower, whose long life and creative activity was completely dedicated to ideals of science and education.
In 1984 he was awarded P.L.Chebyshev's Medal and Diploma of the USSR Academy of Sciences for his series of works on geometry of generalized spaces and investigations devoted to Lobachevsky's life and works.
The story of B.L.Laptev's research work is supplemented with details of his bright and attractive personality, passion for music, painting and poetry. The visitors are shown nice things belonged to him and given to museum by E.D.Brusina.
