In this study the interaction of neuronal precursor cells and neurons with polyelectrolyte-stabilized magnetic nanoparticles was described. The authors showed that magnetic nanoparticles accumulated in the cytoplasm and on the surface of neuronal progenitor cells, do not interact with the nuclear membrane and do not penetrate into the nucleus of neuronal cells. The possibility of directional movement of magnetically functionalized neuronal progenitor cells in a magnetic field has been demonstrated.
