Rector Abdrakhmanov visited KFU on 15th July.
Bolgar Islamic Academy plans to offer a number of advanced training courses in Islamic history and culture in 2020. Dr. Abdrakhmanov asked KFU whether it can suggest candidates from its employees to serve as research consultants and educators for these programs.
Furthermore, the Academy strives to increase the collections of its library, currently comprising 20 thousand storage units.
“We have tasked ourselves with creating a Russian national library of Islam at the Academy. KFU's Lobachevsky Library, one of the oldest in Russia, can be of great assistance in this matter,” said Abdrakhmanov.
Rector Gafurov noted that there are yet uncategorized Arabic and Persian manuscripts at the Lobachevsky Library. The materials, he said, may be a great basis for bibliographical cooperation between the two institutions.
Rector Abdrakhmanov was also offered to join the Council of Rectors of Tatarstan.
Bolgar Islamic Academy has been providing higher education programs since 2017. It specializes in Islamic theology and religious education.
