As a part of the trip to Saint-Petersburg, the KFU team toured another major medical institution.
Almazov Center was established in 1980 in the USSR as the Research Institute of Cardiology. Currently, it’s one of the leading Russian medical enterprises with a unique blend of medical practice and advanced education.
Kazan University Clinic plans to introduce heart transplant surgeries in the near future, so the Center's experience is of special interest. As the tour of the Almazov Center showed, the University Clinic has no shortage of the newest equipment in this particular area. Now, the objective is to borrow the expertise of colleagues from Saint-Petersburg for a quicker implementation of existing ambitious plans.
