Museum of History prepared the exhibition 'KFU Sports Fame'

Kazan is preparing to the main sport event of the year - XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013. Museum of history of Kazan University completed preparations of the exhibition dedicated to the brave and strong people - sports stars of KFU. The exhibition includes documents, photos, gold and silver medals won at major international competitions, cups, swords, boxing gloves, sports uniforms and souvenirs. It is divided into several parts: track and field, weightlifting, fencing and rowing, hockey, basketball, boxing.

Sportsmen that we are very proud of: athletes - Honored Master of Sports, silver winner of the World Student Games in 1997, member of the national team of the USSR and Russia, the four-time European Cup winner Irina Vostrikova, the winner of the Universiade in 2005, the Universiade in 2011, silver winner of the 2008 Olympic Games Elena Migunova, champion of  Russia Tatyana Shutova, champion of Russia in the triple jump in 2008 Alsou Murtazina.

Figure skating: bronze winners of XXV World Universiade Aigul Shavalieva and Sonya Yarullina.

Weightlifting athletes are: European champion, winner of the 2011 Universiade, Kazan 2013 Ambassador Andrey Demanov, European champion Dmitry Khomyakov and World Championship silver winner Evgeni Bakhtiyarov.

Fencing: champion of the USSR, world champion Olga Vaschakina, silver winners of World Championship and Universiade Ekaterina Shurupina and Elena Shasharina.

Graduate of Kazan University Oleg Saitov became the second box fighter in the history of Russian boxing, who own two gold and one bronze medal at the Olympic Games.
