On 15th July, Rector Ilshat Gafurov and Consul Atadurdy Bayramov met at Kazan Federal University.
They were joined by Aide to the Consul Alina Rakhimova, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Timirkhan Alishev, Counselor for International Cooperation Linar Latypov, and Vice-Rector for Education Dmitry Tayursky.
KFU representatives put forth a number of proposals, including further student recruitment from Turkmenistan, creating a Russian language center in Ashgabat (capital of Turkmenistan), and joint educational programs with Turkmenistani universities.
Research cooperation in hydrocarbon industry, materials, medicine, IT, and space tech was also discussed.
Rector Gafurov attracted the Consul’s attention to master and PhD programs in petroleum industry and geology. They are available in Russian and English languages, and there are joint programs with Imperial College London, French Petroleum Institute, Freiberg Mining Academy, and other leading institutions. Advanced training for seasoned professionals is also on the table.
