A big delegation arrived to KFU on 27th September.
Mr. Li’s tour of Kazan University was a part of his first visit to Russia in his capacity as Chairman. On 25th September, he spoke with President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The two leaders discussed parliamentary cooperation, cultural ties, student exchange, and joint research conducted by Russian and Chinese scientific institutions.
Kazan Federal University is one example of such effective cooperation. Rector Ilshat Gafurov met the esteemed guest and presented the University, “We follow two main strategies while working with overseas scientific centers. The first is mutually complementing research undertaken by open laboratories. The second is creating so-called mirror laboratories. We are in especially tight cooperation with Haier. When they first entered the Russian market, they quickly established our joint research center, where, apart from the technological process, people can also study Chinese language and culture. This was a requirement of the company.”
The guests proceeded to look at the memorabilia in the History Museum, paying special attention to items tied to Vladimir Lenin and Leo Tolstoy. Li Zhanshu left a note in the University’s guestbook, and Rector Gafurov gave him a gift – a copy of Lenin’s university application and its translation into Chinese language.
“Today, I saw documents pertaining to China which date back 200 years. This attests to a deep cultural and research ties between your university and China. This visit has left a strong impression on me,” emphasized Chairman Li.
He recommended Kazan University employees to visit Huawei and Haier research center during their next visits to China. Rector Gafurov noted that cooperation with China is ever expanding, now also extending to medicine, and thanked the guest for his high praise of the existing cooperation results.
