New academic discipline for Master's degree program was presented at the enlarged meeting of the Intelligent Robotics Department

On January 30, 2023, in addition to the standard monthly topics related to the educational process, research activities, preparation of scientific publications, presentations at scientific events, and plans of the department for the next month, on the initiative of Prof. Evgeni Magid there was a discussion on a new academic discipline for Master's degree program "Intelligent Robotics".

The discipline "Navigation of Mobile Robotics Systems" is aimed to replace in the future the current discipline "Autonomous Robotics Systems", taught by Professor Magid in the fall semester for second-year Master's students of “Intelligent Robotics” program. The concept and materials of the course were developed by Prof. Magid for a year and a half with the support of the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation (Grant No. GSGK-0033/21). The main presentation was followed by an active discussion that touched on the choice of language for teaching (Russian or English), the amount of course materials and homework, the use of equipment, workload, and the required depth for each of the course topics. The participants of the meeting highly appreciated the amount of work done, pointed out the large volume of topics and assignments, and recommended to consider turning the course from a one-semester to a two-semester course.
