ITIS employees presented a research paper at the main robotics conference of the year IROS 2021

The International Conference on Intelligent Robotics and Systems (IROS 2021,  IEEE / RSJ) is being held from September 27 to October 01, 2021 in a remote format due to the epidemiological situation in the world.

The goal of the conference is to create opportunities for meetings, discussion and familiarization with the latest advances in robotics, autonomous and intelligent systems, human-compatible robots, medical robotics and much more. As before, IROS 2021 includes an online robotics exhibition as an integral part of the event.

At the event, recognized as the main conference of the year in robotics, a multidisciplinary research paper was presented by the heads of two laboratories of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS): Associate Professor Max Talanov (Laboratory of Neuromorphic Computing and Neurosimulations, NCN) and Professor of the Department of Intelligent Robotics Evgeni Magid (Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems, LIRS).

Research paper topic:

«Neurointerface implemented with Oscillator Motifs». Authors: Max Talanov, students of the Department of Intelligent Robotics Alina Suleimanova, Alexey Leukhin, Yulia Mikhailova, employee of the ITIS Alexander Toshchev, Researcher of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology (IFMB) Alena Militskova, leading researcher at IFMB Igor Lavrov, Evgeni Magid.

Max Talanov, who presented an article at the conference, shared his impressions of participating in IROS 2021:

«The IROS conference has been held since 1988. I was amazed at how professionally everything is organized and automated. During the sessions, topics relevant to the whole world were raised and new and interesting ideas were put forward. It inspires for sure.»
