December 1 will mark the 225th Birth Anniversary of Nikolay Ivanovich Lobachevsky, the famous Russian mathematician known as the inventor of non-Euclidean geometry. On this occasion, the year 2017 has been declared the Year of Lobachevsky in Kazan Federal University. Eight works by N. I. Lobachevsky were published in Uchenye Zapiski Kazanskogo Universiteta.
Uchenye Zapiski Kazanskogo Universiteta. Seriya Estestvennye Nauki is now included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the leading “white” database of open access journals that pursue high quality standards and publish results of original scientific research or reviews. Indexation in DOAJ significantly increases accessibility, popularity, and citation of the journal. To date, there are around 10 000 journals from 115 countries in DOAJ. The database has already taken its place alongside Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed.
Uchenye Zapiski Kazanskogo Universiteta. Seriya Estestvennye Nauki has been included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Web of Science Core Collection. The ESCI is a product of Clarivate Analytics launched in 2015. Journals covered in the ESCI are peer-reviewed serials of the high quality and interest to scholarly community. Indexing in the ESCI means that a journal has passed an initial editorial review and remains in consideration for indexing in the core databases of Web of Science Core Collection.
