On April, 3 Vice-Rector for International Relations, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations Linar Latypov met with Consul of Spain to Lithuania and Counselor for Cultural Affairs of Spain in Russia Manuel Hernández Gamallo. First Deputy Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations Nailya Akhtyamova, Head of the Department of Ibero-Romance philology at the Institute of Philology and Arts Ekaterina Pleukhova.
During the meeting Linar Latypov made a presentation about the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations, told about development of Kazan School of Oriental Studies and unit of rare manuscripts. Consul of Spain was interested in tolerant relations between confessions and nations that live in Tatarstan. Moreover, he noted that Tatarstan Republic and Spain have contact points in the sphere of Oriental Studies and Islam Heritage Studies. Consul of Spain offered assistance in strengthening Kazan School of Oriental Studies. Linar Latypov told that he would send a letter to Consulate of Spain in Russian Federation with concrete proposals on cooperation.
