AKTO-2018 is held on 8th – 10th August.
This year, the expo coincides with the 130th anniversary of prominent engineer Andrei Tupolev and 55th anniversary of Valentina Tereshkova’s spaceflight.
The expo features technology and materials for airplanes, helicopters, engine building, device building, and navigation. The 4th Convention of Aerospace Industry of Russia is also being held.
Kazan Federal University is represented by two institutes. The Institute of Physics presents its new educational course “Geography Lessons from the Orbit”. The visitors are also able to get acquainted with the Center for Implementation of Space Research which handles aerospace-based information and data. The Institute of Engineering is showcasing its additive technology for gas turbine engines. Additive treatment helps create net structures and internal cavities which are unobtainable through standard machine processing. Automated workload monitoring system is also featured.
On 10th August, the expo will conclude with an event called “The sky is my choice” to celebrate the Day of Russian Air Force.
