Representatives of the Chinese Academy of Sciences toured KFU today.
The delegation comprises Director of TIAT Wu Zhengbin, Deputy Director Li Bing, and Deputy Director for Electric Vehicles Cao Xiaoyan. They were greeted by Director of the KFU International Office Andrey Krylov.
The guests visited the History Museum, the Emperor's Ballroom, and the Lenin Memorial Classrom in the Main Building.
They then proceeded to the Institute of Chemistry, where SAU EcoOil labs work on the problem of electric accumulator capacity. Two years, KFU and Sapienza University of Rome launched a project on ionic liquids, one of the prospective areas in electric vehicle technology. Director Wu showed interest to this research and opined that it might become one of future cooperation links.
At the Institute of Physics, the guests stopped at the KFU-RIKEN Lab Unit and its three labs. They talked with Director of the Institute Sergey Nikitin and Deputy Director for Research Lyudmila Savostina and introduced TIAT to them. The Chinese team expressed interest in KFU's research into new materials, specifically those that can help produce batteries capable of working in minus 20 - minus 40 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow, the delegation plans to get acquainted with Oleg Sherstyukov, Head of AstroChallenge Unit and Chair of the Department of Radio Physics.
Summarizing his impressions of today, Wu Zhengbin said, “Russia and China are influential in the world. Currently, both economies are growing. Of course, each of the countries has its own path of economic development. Russia is a traditional industrial country. You have reached great heights in industrial materials. The main goal of our visit is to understand each other and to strengthen ties between the two countries.”
Director Krylov gifted Dr. Wu a commemorative medal with the University's insignia.
