The delegation was headed by First Secretary of Harbin City Committee of CPC Wang Zhaoli.
Before arriving to KFU, CPC members met with Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin and Vice-Mayor of Kazan Lyudmila Andreeva. Both officials noted the importance of cooperation links with China. In particular, Ms. Andreeva said that there are currently 4 partnership agreements between Kazan and Chinese cities. Kazanian schoolkids show growing interest in learning Chinese language. Secretary Wang replied that the delegation plans to familiarize itself with the capital of Tatarstan and find out new prospects for collaborations.
At KFU, Vice-Rector Linar Latypov introduced the University to the guests and accompanied them to the History Museum, the Lenin Memorial Classroom, and the Emperor Ballroom.
2018 and 2019 have been declared Russian-Chinese years of interregional cooperation, and Kazan University is keen on making meaningful contributions to this cause.
