On 25th – 2nd July 2023, KFU is set to conduct one of the most large-scale events in the world of linguistics.
The application was made jointly by KFU and Institute of Linguistics (Russian Academy of Sciences). Currently, the Permanent International Committee of Linguists (CIPL) comprises 34 national associations, and Russia is represented by the Association of Linguists of the Institute of Linguistics.
“President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov is elected as the honorary president of the event. Rector of Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov and Director of the Institute of Linguistics Andrey Kibrik are co-presidents,” informs Director of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Kazan University Radif Zamaletdinov. “We are in the process of coordinating on work issues. Several bodies will be established, such as organizational, review, and scientific committees, and Kazan University employees will be members.”
To prepare for this forum, KFU is going to hold Kazan International Linguistics Summit this year. Institute of Linguistics and Institute of Linguistic Studies of Saint-Petersburg have agreed to serve as partners for this event.
Radif Zamaletdinov is also very glad that the application was approved on the 175th anniversary of Jan Baudouin de Courtenay, renowned Polish-Russian linguist who worked at Kazan University. He thanked Tatarstan Investment Development Agency for assistance in preparing a presentation.
The registration for ICL 2023 will be open in 2022.
