Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the University Clinic Lyailya Muradimova spoke about the specifics of this project.
“We started vaccinating KFU employees according to the schedule,” she said during the first day of the campaign, 2 February. “At this moment, 950 employees have added their names to the waiting list. On 15 January, we began the vaccination process for our medical workers.”
Before the vaccination, questionnaires are given to prospective visitors to find out about their chronic conditions, allergies, taken medications, etc. Chronic diseases in acute phase and ongoing respiratory infections are contra-indications for vaccination. The used vaccine, Gam-COVID-Vac (Sputnik-V), is also currently not approved for underage persons and pregnant women.
Among the first to receive the vaccine were educators of the Department of Geographical and Environmental Education. Department Chair Ilgizar Gaisin noted, “Every year before internships, we and our students get inoculated against tick-borne encephalitis. And vaccination against COVID-19 is necessary for everyone who actively communicates with student and employees.”
