Research Areas
The research work at the department is carried out within the priority areas of development of science, technology and engineering in the Russian Federation “Environmental management”, “Living systems”. It refers to the section “Methods of monitoring and forecasting of the environment, the prevention and elimination of its pollution", the list of critical methods of the Russian Federation (2011). The research work is carried out in two main areas: development and application of advanced statistical methods and models for the analyses of spatial and temporal data in ecology (structure of vegetation, landscape analysis and zoning) (Supervisor: Professor A. Saveliev), mathematical modeling of the processes of transferring pollutants in water and air (movement of dispersed air pollutants, filtration of contaminated ground and underground water, monitoring and treatment of disperse contaminants) (Supervisor: Prof. Sh. Zaripov).
