In a whole the Chemistry Institute conducts researches in the following priority directions of science development of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation:
- Development of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysts for chemical and petrochemical industry;
- Multifunctional polymers, composites, and other materials with practically useful properties;
- Development of new pharmaceuticals for medicine and veterinary.
