Rector Ilshat Gafurov visited the city of Nizhnekamsk and the facilities of the petrochemical enterprise on 7th August.
The two top managers were joined by Deputy Director for Investment of NKNK Boris Averyanov and Deputy Director of the Institute of Chemistry of KFU Alexander Lamberov.
The sides discussed plans to include the University’s R&D into Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s plans for 2021. In particular, there is much interest in catalysts for the production of monomers, oligomers and polymers based on unsaturated hydrocarbons.
To this day, over 20 new catalysts were researched and 7 were introduced into production by KFU and NKNK; 10 others have been tested and will be introduced in the nearest future.
The discussion then touched on the Regional Chemical Technology Engineering Center – the equipment stationed there is also of interest to KFU.
Ayrat Safin commented, “The existing research of Kazan University will bring serious synergistic economic effect. With that in mind, we are constantly cooperating with the University, and we see immense prospects of further collaboration.”
Heatproof polymer composites are one of the foci of global interest because they can replace metals in constructions. Composites possess high mechanical durability, thermal resistance, corrosion resistance and low density, which makes constructions with them highly reliable and longevous.
