Scientific interests 

I have been working on cholinesterase structure and molecular mechanisms of catalysis and inhibition, engineering of mutants of cholinesterase's capable of hydrolyzing organophosphorus agents, and enzymes that detoxify these agents (paraoxonase, phosphotriesterases). Thus, improving prophylaxis and post-exposure treatment of organophosphate poisoning is one of my goals. Other goals related to cholinesterase's is treatment of Alzheimer disease, neuromuscular diseases, and prevention of anesthetic accidents.
