The research on developmental physiology at the Department of Anatomy, Physiology, and Human Health Protection has begun in the 30's of the 20th century. Most intensively the research was conducted starting from the 60's, when postgraduate studies in Physiology were launched.
All these years the main direction of scientific research are:
Molecular and cell mechanisms of heart function regulation
Developmental Heart Physiology
Developmental Adaption to Various Loads
Head of the group:
since 2010 - to the present: Prof. Timur .L. Zefirov.
For its innovative projects The Department constantly receives grants from the Russian Fund of Basic Researches (RFBR), Russian Humanitarian Scientific Fund (RHSF), Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation, etc.
More than 90 PhD student have successfully completed their postgraduate studies.
The staff carried out 13 All-Russian (with the international participation) scientific conferences on Developmental Physiology with the invitation of the leading scientists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, etc.
