The international interdisciplinary round table "Green City" in the interdisciplinary perspective: conceptualization, theories, measurement, forms of manifestation" was held at the Federal Research Sociological Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow on 22nd December 2017. The roundtable was aimed at discussing, comparing and critically analyzing the theoretical, methodological and conceptual foundations of the "green" cities study in the interdisciplinary and international context. Attention was paid to the analysis of concepts of increasing the sustainability of Russian cities while meeting new socio-ecological, economic, information, geopolitical risks.
Oleg Yanitsky presented a report "Issues of the methodology in developing the interdisciplinary projects", where the initial positions and difficulties of building a model of a "green" city in the Russian perspective were discussed. Polina Ermolaeva in her presentation "In the labyrinths of sustainable cities: a meta-analysis of modern interdisciplinary studies" conducted a critical analysis of the main foreign discourses of ecologically sustainable cities such as "eco-city", "compact city", "low-carbon city", "green city", and "sustainable city". Olga Usacheva, Polina Ermolaeva and Yulia Ermolaeva made a joint report on the topic "Critical analysis of the main theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of "green cities", which discussed the main approaches to the theorizing of "green" cities in the world - sustainable development, "green" urbanism , microorganism and theories of behavior, ecological modernization, the theory of stable transitions, socio-ecological metabolism, the SBT systems approach , and others. Irina Kuznetsova in her report "Affective geography, emotions and the green environment of cities" discussed the health peculiarities of the inhabitants of megacities.
