The Department's objective is working out scientific, practical and methodological foundations of social and economic development at the national, inter-regional, regional and municipal levels, comfortable urban environment and the development of knowledge-intensive economic activities.

The main objectives of the Department are:

teaching competitive professionals that are capable to implement a new style of management at the enterprises;

expert support of the municipal and regional development programs;

providing analytical framework decision and subsequent implementation of administrative decisions in urban planning and management of municipal services;

expansion of international cooperation with the world's leading scientific schools;

implementation of R&D in cooperation with other departments;

the formation of innovative thinking and creating innovative competencies of faculty to improve the educational process efficiency and transfer these skills to the students.
