General cultural competencies

The graduate of the direction is able to:

• navigate the system of universal human values ​​and take into account the value-semantic orientations of various social, national, religious, professional communities and groups in Russian society;
• be guided by the principles of cultural relativism and ethical norms that imply the rejection of ethnocentrism and respect for the uniqueness of a foreign language culture and value orientations of a foreign language society;

• the ability to use the conceptual apparatus of philosophy, theoretical and applied linguistics, translation studies, linguodidactics and the theory of intercultural communication to solve professional problems;
• the ability to see the interdisciplinary connections of the studied disciplines, understands their significance for future professional activities;
• possession of a system of linguistic knowledge, including knowledge of the basic phonetic, lexical, grammatical, word-forming phenomena and patterns of functioning of the studied foreign language, its functional varieties;
• possession of ethical and moral standards of behavior adopted in a foreign cultural society; willingness to use models of social situations, typical scenarios of interaction between participants in intercultural communication;
• possession of the main discursive ways of implementing the communicative goals of the statement in relation to the features of the current communicative context (time, place, goals and conditions of interaction);
• possession of the main ways of expressing semantic, communicative and structural continuity between parts of the statement - the compositional elements of the text (introduction, main part, conclusion), superphrasal units, sentences;
• the ability to freely express one's thoughts, adequately using a variety of linguistic means in order to highlight relevant information;
• possession of the features of the official, neutral and unofficial registers of communication;
• readiness to overcome the influence of stereotypes and carry out intercultural dialogue in the general and professional spheres of communication;

• possession of the methodology of pre-translational analysis of the text, which contributes to the accurate perception of the original statement;
• possession of the methodology for preparing for the implementation of the translation, including the search for information in reference, specialized literature and computer networks;
• possession of the main ways to achieve equivalence in translation and the ability to the ability to carry out written translation in compliance with the norms of lexical equivalence, compliance with grammatical, syntactic and stylistic norms;
• the ability to format the text of the translation in a computer text editor;
• the ability to perform oral consecutive translation and oral translation from sight in compliance with the norms of lexical equivalence, compliance with the grammatical, syntactic and stylistic norms of the translation text and the temporal characteristics of the source text;
• knowledge of the basics of the abbreviated translation notation system when performing oral consecutive translation; apply the basic translation techniques;

Practice is a type of training session that is directly focused on professional and practical training. Practice consolidates the knowledge and skills acquired as a result of mastering theoretical courses, develop practical skills and contribute to the integrated formation of general cultural, professional and special competencies.

Educational, industrial practice and performance of research work are provided.

Educational practice is aimed at the formation of primary skills and abilities of future professional activity. Educational subject practices are partly carried out on a stationary basis during the session on the basis of the chairs of the Department of Foreign Languages of Elabuga Institute of KFU, partly independently, in the form of performing specific tasks of a practical nature.

Industrial practice allows you to get the primary experience of professional activity and ensure the readiness of the graduate for practical work. Ways of conducting industrial practice: stationary or mobile.

The final state certification includes the defense of the bachelor's final qualifying work, taking into account the profile of training.

Upon completion of mastering the main professional educational program, the qualification "Bachelor" is awarded.
