Department of Paleontology and Stratigraphy
The Department of Paleontology and Stratigraphy at Kazan Federal University provides a friendly, dynamic and supportive environment in which to learn about the evolution of our planet, the architecture and origin of strata, the structural features of fossils, and different palaeoenvironments in the Earth history from geoscientists at the forefront of their field. Students are taught by staff recognised internationally for their expertise in fields such as palaeontology, micropaleontology, bio-, magneto-, chemo-, sequence-, event stratigraphy, sea-level changes, lithology, and palaeoenvironments.
Science
Students are attracted to the interesting projects the Department participate in, for example UNESCO-IUGS International Geoscience Program IGCP 609 “Climate-environmental deteriorations during greenhouse phases: Causes and consequences of short-term Cretaceous sea-level changes” .
