The Universiade Village is getting ready to host XVI World Aquatics Championships

Rector Ilshat Gafurov confirmed the readiness of the venue to receive athletes during the biggest sports event of 2015.

Minister for Sports Vitaliy Mutko highly appreciated the preparation course of Kazan for XVI World Acquatics Championships. The competitions will take place on July 24th – August 9th in Kazan. The infrastructure developed for the 2013 Universiade allows holding sport events of global level for multiple times. Great role is played by Kazan Federal University because after the Universiade much of its legacy was granted to KFU. During the summer break main accommodation for athletes and teams will be the Universiade Village, and student sport centres will be a training arena.

In order to provide preparations of the Universiade Village Rector Ilshat Gafurov made a decision to finish the spring semester ahead of the schedule. The main focus of core-business departments is to make sure that the education process maintains its quality. These and many other questions related to the Championships were discussed at the Organization Committee meeting, in the course of which, it was assured that Kazan will be ready to meet athletes, fans and tourists on the target date.

Tatarstan's administration is experienced in holding mondial events and KFU was involved in many of them. 2015 is not going to be an exception because the majority of the volunteers are students of the Kazan University.
