The time is rushing forward; thus, it is only four months to the main world sporting event – the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games “Sochi 2014”. Preparation is in full swing now: sport venues construction is coming to an end, athletes are training with all their might, and volunteers are improving their skills.
Thus, at the last weekend students of KFU Branch in Naberezhnye Chelny took part in the second stage of volunteer training in Ceremony function. Representatives of Penza, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Magnitogorsk, Moscow, Naberezhnye Chelny, Cheboksary, Tolyatti, Nizhnekamsk and many other cities got together in KNITU (KAI). Everything started from participant registration, then organisers answered all questions, including: what inoculations are needed, where and how volunteers will live, how to get to Sochi most comfortably. Exhaustive answers to all the questions were given by Ms. Rezeda Valiullina, the Director of the Centre for Volunteer Attraction in Kazan. Training started immediately after her speech. Its main purpose was a detailed familiarization with the sport venue (Fisht stadium) and description of volunteers’ positions and functions.
On that day volunteers got acquainted with a history of the Olympic and Paralympic Games opening and closing ceremonies, main attributes and rites of this event. Plans for the period from February 07 – 23, 2014 are still kept in secret, but the organisers promise to present the whole world a real memorable show. The training finished on a lyric note: each volunteer wrote his cherished dream on a sheet of paper and attached it to the Dream Tree. In spite of the fact that the volunteers were from different cities, of different age and sex, they were united by one common goal – to hold the best Games in the Olympic movement history. Hot, winter, your games.
