‘Business Factory’, a reality show hosted by KFU and the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan, finished its run on September 4th.
The winners were congratulated by Interim President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Rector Ilshat Gafurov, Minister of Economy Artyom Zdunov, and others.
The competitors were given 90 days to open their business.
Jury expert Aydar Bulatov said, 'All teams were equal in not having any startup, nor did some of them have previous business experience'.
859 applications were submitted. 135 of them (comprising 27 teams) were approved, 11 teams made it to the finals. 5 teams were selected as the winners, one of them – called ‘4+1’ – consisted of KFU students.
President Minnikhanov opined, 'Not all of you will become businesspersons, but this experience will always be your asset in life. I think that all our universities should teach basics of entrepreneurship. Secondary schools must also participate. We have to apply the ‘Business Factory’ experience in schools'.
Dr. Gafurov voiced his support to launching further seasons of ‘Business Factory’. ‘Basics of Business is a study course in KFU, and this reality show started with our participation in 2013. It can now be undoubtedly called a success’, said he.
The teams tried their best in different areas: cosmetology, construction, entertainment…
Member of the '4+1' team, physics student Anton Gantsev shared his impressions, 'We developed two projects – in well drilling and fence construction. The first one was challenging, we didn’t have any skill in this work, didn’t have a drilling unit. We came to the conclusion that you have to first learn how to make something with your own hands and only then start a business. Our mentor Rafael Zaynutdinov suggested fence construction. We hired a tutor to learn this craft, then started building ourselves, and finally started hiring subcontractors and expanding our business'.
The guys of '4+1' plan to continue their business endeavours and grow their company called TatBurStroy LLC.
The team called 'Rising Five' was declared the winner. They were awarded with the cup and received the main prize of 1 million rubles.
