A delegation headed by Chairman Zhang Dejiang (accompanied by Interim President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov) paid a visit to the University on June 10th.
The esteemed guests were welcomed by Rector Ilshat Gafurov, Vice-Rector Linar Latypov, students and staff of the Confucius Institute of KFU, Chinese students of KFU.
Chairman Zhang studied V. Lenin memorabilia in the KFU History Museum, paid a visit to the classroom which Lenin frequented during his study days (and which is now preserved exactly as it appeared in 1887) and left his signature in the Book of Esteemed Guests of the University. He also expressed his respect towards the University's policy of cherishing its historical heritage.
The sides exchanged gifts and expressed their hopes to continue and expand cooperation.
The University has a wide network of various cooperation projects with Chinese research and educational institutions. Among them are Shanghai Observatory, National Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xinjiang University, Hunan Normal University, Nanjing Normal University, Guangxi Normal University, Beijing Foreign Studies University and others. Confucius Institute of KFU was established in 2007.
«Exploration and Observation of the small Solar System bodies» is a project jointly put into practice by KFU's researchers, Shanghai Observatory and some other research centres.
April 2015 saw the establishment of the Education Centre of Haier (one of the top Chinese home appliances manufacturers) at Naberezhnye Chelny Institute of KFU. The Centre educates both undergraduates and service engineers.
This is the second day that the delegation spends in Tatarstan. Today Chairman Zhang plans to visit the Kazan Helicopters factory, Kazan Kremlin and to take part in the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan session meeting.
