Department of Russian as a Foreign Language has organized Academic Olympics in Russian for KFU International Students from February, 27 to March, 14.
70 undergraduate and master students from USA, Great Britain, Germany, Yemen, Republic of Korea, China, Poland, Japan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan took part in the contest. They represented Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication, Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, Faculty of Law and other academic divisions.
According to the results of written elimination round, 26 papers on 5 topics took part in essay competition.
The second (oral) tour of the contest was held on March, 14. The participants had 5 minutes to prepare a 3-minute speech in which they had to agree or disagree with sayings of famous artists and scholars. The speeches were evaluated by 8 criteria.
The winners of the second tour are:
1st place - Aisnley Katz (USA) and Joanna Andrzejczak (Poland)
2nd place – Agnieszka Zielinska (Poland)
3rd place – Qiuying Cao (China)
They will take part in all-Kazan Academic Olympics in Russian for International Students.
