Psychology Department was reorganized in 1989. For more than 20 years it has been training highly qualified teachers and since 2001 - educating psychologists for secondary schools.
Since its establishment the Psychology Department was headed by the remarkable academics: Prof. A.I. Fukin, DSc in Psychology (1990-1991); Associate Professor V.V. Ovsyannikova, PhD in Psychology (1991-1993); Prof. D.S. Yagafarova, DSc in Pedagogy (1993-1996); Prof. F.G. Mukhametzyanova, DSc in Pedagogy (1996-2003); Associate Professor A.N. Panfilov, PhD in Pedagogy (2003-2004). Since 2004 the department is headed by Associate Professor G.M. Ldokova, PhD in Psychology.
All the activities of Psychology Department are based on the concept of evidence-based improvement of psychological training of teachers as well as taking into account the current situation and strategies of teachers' education.
