L.I. Sattarova is Art Historian and Faculty Member at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University. Prior to that, she held curatorial, teaching, and administrative posts at the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan (Chief Curator, 2018–2023), International Organization of Turkic Culture in Ankara (representative of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, 2011-2015), Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan (head of the Museum’s department, 2006-2011), and Kazan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Lecturer, 1991-2006). She is the author of books (Kazan patterned leather, (in Russian), Moscow, 2004; Sakhtiyan chitek, saury ukche, (in Tatar), Kazan, 2013; Tatar patterned leather: craft, tradition, art, (in Russian), Kazan, 2023; The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan. Volume LVII. Collections of Museums of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia), (in English, Russian and Uzbek), Tashkent, 2022; To the owner of this there will be prosperity for all times...” Tatar jewelry with Arabic inscriptions: Catalog / Reading, Translation and Commentary on Arabic Inscriptions by Ilyas A. Mustakimov, (in Russian), Kazan, 2023), and has published on subjects ranging from the medieval Islamic woodwork in Anatolia to the history and ornamentation of the traditional art of Kazan Tatars. She authored the main part as well as edited a volume Islamic culture in the collection of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, for the first time presented Islamic collections of the Museum. She has published translations to Russian and English, including Mitkhat S. Bulatov, Geometric Harmonization in the Architecture of Central Asia: 9th-15th Centuries (Historical – Theoretical Research). IRCICA, 2022, and The Hidden Treasures.
