Irina Vladimirovna Privalova is a Doctor of Philology. In 1995, she defended her thesis of candidate of philological sciences: “Psychological Attitude in Foreign Text Understanding” at Saratov State University. In the years 2001-2006, she was a doctoral student at the Department of Psycholinguistics and Communication Theory at the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow). In 2006, she defended her post-doctoral thesis “Linguistic consciousness: ethnocultural marking (theoretical and experimental research)” at the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow).
She is the author of 3 monographs, 6 textbooks, over 130 scientific articles (including in the journals from Scopus and Web of Science).
She is the member of three international professional associations: ICA, ECREA, ISAPL and one Russian professional association: RCA. I.V. Privalova is a grant holder: Travel Grant of ICA (Montreal, 2008), Understanding Canada (2013, iSchool, University of Toronto), Travel Grant of ICA (London, 2013), Visiting Senior Fellow LSE (London, 2014). She participated in a number of international conferences in the USA, Canada, Spain, Portugal, and Great Britain. She is the member of the editorial board of the Russian Journal of Communication, which is published by Rutledge (Taylor & Francis) London (UK) (the edition is included in the Scopus database).
