Proposed Duration of Project 2013-2017

Scientific Achievements: The project will generate new scientific data of Cretaceous greenhouse time and provide us a new curve of Cretaceous sea-level change.

Project Objectives: The three research aims of the project proposed which are 1) to clarify x100kyr scale change of sea-level and also its cause, 2) to calculate actual rate of sea-level change during Cretaceous super-greenhouse period, and 3) to clarify the relation to climate change and oceanic anoxia/oxidation events, which are aligned with IGCP, UNESCO and IUGS, will provide many seeds for future research.

Project Meetings: Five special symposium/workshops, field excursion, special publications (e.g. proceedings of the symposium), training courses, and knowledge transfer on field and/or laboratory work are planned. Most of the symposia will take place in association with large meetings of major geoscience societies.
