The Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies is one of the leading scientific centres with a social-and-humanitarian profile in the country. The Institute can boast a truly wide range of scientific research. It features the study of such topical issues as the cultural heritage of the Tatar people, Eastern countries, Eurasian archaeology, modern international processes, theoretical and comparative linguistics. Dissertation Councils for Candidate and Doctoral science degrees in History, Culturology and Art history play an important role in the Institute’s scientific life. The Institute also publishes its own scientific journals. The Institute annually holds scientific conferences – they are significant for the Russian scientific community: the International Forum “Islam in a Multicultural World”, International Scientific and Practical conference “Russia - China: History and Culture”, International Scientific and Practical conference “Foreign Languages in the Modern World” and many others.
The Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies has 2 centers of science and education (REC) and 1 research laboratory (RL). These centres and research laboratory are aimed at forming a base for projects with interdisciplinary methodological approach, relevant scientific projects for grant support, commercialization of projects, registration of intellectual activity results, academic and foreign participation as co-executors, efficient selection of graduate students.
