Chair history:
The Chair of the Tatar Language and Literature was founded in 1958. The heads of the chair were M.G. Faizullina (1958-1967), T.N. Galiullin (1975-1986), L.Sh. Arslanov (1986-1992), R.G. Salikhov (1992-1996), N.Kh. Laisov (1996-2000). A.Kh. Zainullina (2000-2001). F.G. Galliamov (2001-2011), G.F. Dautov (2012-2019).
In 2010, as a result of the merger of the chair of the Tatar language and Tatar literature, the chair of Tatar philology was organised.
At the Chair of Tatar Philology, at different times, eminent philologists taught - Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Philology, Professor L.Sh. Arslanov, doctor of philological sciences, professor Kh.Kh. Salimov, candidate of philological sciences, professor N.Kh. Laisov, Honored teacher of the Republic of Tatarstan, candidate of pedagogical sciences, professor S.G. Ismagilova, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor M.M. Nigmatullov.
