Cooperation with Uzbekistan

Cooperation of KFU with Republic of Uzbekistan nowadays is developing in the framework of training its citizens at Kazan Federal University. In the current academic year, KFU trains 85 students from Uzbekistan, including 1 master degree student, 22 bachelors and 62 specialists. The majority (64 people) are trained by the referral of the Russian Federation Ministry of at the expense of the federal budget funds, in accordance with the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation of 25.08.2008 № 638; 17 - on contract terms, and four more were enrolled on common basis having equal rights with the Russian citizens.

During the period from 2007 to 2010 the number of students from Uzbekistan in KFU remained stable within the range of 50-55 persons per year. In 2011 this number has increased significantly thanks to the policy of attracting foreigners, including CIS citizens, to study at the University of Kazan.
