Cooperation with Turkmenistan

Cooperation of KFU with Turkmenistan nowadays is developing in the framework of training Turkmenistan citizens at Kazan Federal University.

In 2011/12 academic year, 58 citizens of this state are studying at KFU, including 1 post-graduate student, 26 bachelors and 54 specialists. The vast majority of this number (65 people, including 19 bachelors, 45 specialists and 1 post graduate) study on contract basis; 16 students came by the referral of the Russian Federation Ministry of Education at the expense of the federal budget funds, in accordance with the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation of 25.08.2008 № 638.

In the past ten years (from 2001 to 2009) the number of Turkmen citizens studying at KFU did not exceed 3-4 persons per year. However, in 2010 ten students and in 2011 - 81 students were admitted to training. Such significant increase is due to the policy of KFU to attract foreigners, including CIS citizens, to study at the University of Kazan.
