Studying climatic history, laws and mechanisms of environmental dynamics in Holocene and Pleistocene through geological and biological proxy indicators.
Theoretical and experimental research of magnetism of geological and biological objects, works on devices and diagnostics methods of magnetism components, their physical parameters and origins.

Our main research spheres:

• Quantitative reconstruction of ecological and climatic change in Holocene and Pleistocene with the use of different indicators (pollen, diatomic algae, carcinological and and chironomids analysis).
• Studies of magnetism of fallout and sedimentaries for environmental reconstruction and for exploring change in magnetism parameters of rock formations under different influences (formation and destruction of oil and gas deposits and gas hydrates, migration of hydrocarbons).
• Analysis of geomagnetic field influence on biological objects in contemporary conditions and in history, methodological works on paleobiological and paleoclimatic reconstructions, works on magnetism implementation in biomedicine.
• Exploring the origins and prevalence of magnetic particles in the environment.
• Creating devices for express measurements of magnetism parameters of low-magnetic natural objects, theoretical approach to quantitative interpretation on measurement results.
