He is (since 2024) a member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the implementation of the state policy of the Russian language and languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation (from 2014 to 2024, he was a member of the Presidium of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the Russian language). In 2022, he was elected as a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education, and in 2023 as a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.
