In accordance with the KFU Conference decision, the Institute of Physical Education, Sport and Restorative Medicine of Kazan Federal University was established on the basis of the former Faculty of Physical Education in 2011.

The Institute provides training for more than 600 full-time students and the ones taking  correspondence course. It also has more than 100 members of the academic staff and employees, among them there are professors, assistant professors, senior  tutors and junior members of teaching and research staff. Six Departments of the Institute carry out the educational process. Its premises are located in Levo - Bulachnaya St, 44 (academic building №26). Practical classes are provided in sports complexes “Moscow” and “Bustan” as well as on the basis of other “Universiade- 2013” sports grounds.
