This review analyzes the monograph Sculpture of Tatarstan: Its Origin, Development and Traditions written by T.N.Krivosheeva, an art critic. The work explores the sculpture of Tatars and Tatarstan, its formation and development. The reviewer notes that the monograph suggests fundamentally new evaluation criteria prompted by the nature of this branch of art. In his opinion, this work is a major contribution to the arts studies in Tatarstan as it clarifies certain controversial issues of national art of the last century in its entirety.
