In this article the author analyzes the artistic culture of Tatar-Muslims, known as “the Northern Muslims”, whose aesthetics is related to global Islamic culture and which has its own specific features. Investigation into a number of foreign surveys devoted to Islamic Oriental art suggests that the Muslim Tatar region is a blank page. In the article the author tries to discover reasons for the ignorance of Muslim Tatar art overseas and proves both the need to investigate this issue in the context of common patterns of Islamic culture development and the need for special education in this field in Tatarstan and training of its own specialists in the potential of both European and Near-Eastern science.
