THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE WOODEN MOSQUES OF LITHUANIAN TATARS

Unique material and detailed information about the architecture of wooden mosques of Lithuanian Tatars are represented in this article1. The history of the construction of wooden mosques on the territory of the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania is considered as an example of the interaction of different cultures in their national and religious dimension. The key stages of Islamic religious architecture have been summarized. The scope of the builders of the mosques has been set. Distinctive features of these buildings for worship have been revealed. The material is richly illustrated.
